About Doug & His Urns

Doug Beck is a retired man who loves to work with wood and create new things. He says, " I like the challenge of creating something new and well made -- and it would be nice if I could also earn a little extra money to support my hobbies. S.S. does not stretch very far these days -- and wood is so expensive."

Actually, the whole idea about making the urns began with a discussion about how expensive funerals are. We are getting older, and talked about ways to make things as easy as we can on our loved ones when we leave this earth. Doug designed and made two beautiful urns. We were surprised that some of our friends were very interested in the whole idea.

These Urns were intended to be Burial Urns, yet they serve as decorative art pieces long before their final use. [which we all hope will be a very very long time from now]

The Wooden Urn Gallery has pictures and information about some of Doug's most recent work. The Archive has some of his earlier works.

These are not catalogs of items 'in stock'. The galleries are collections of pictures of urns that he has made. Each one was either made to order, or as a creative inspiration.

Urn Styles and Samples is an explanation or clarification of the shapes, styles, and colors he has made and can make. There is also a cross-cut view of his uniquely designed urns.
